    CCleaner

    Can anybody suggest the ins and outs and the safest way to use CCleaner?

    TMJ,
    CCleaner is a very safe and popular cleaning utility.

    I have used it as is, installed "straight of the box", default options and all and have not had any apparent problems ( or issues, as they are called these days ).

    Updates are simple overwrites and the cleaning process is fast.

    My personal preferences (for just the Cleaner component) are shown below. These reflect what I personally want to keep and get rid of - they're no better or wose than anyone else's. As Bob says, it's a pretty safe application regardless of how you run it.
