I believe the only 'fix' for this is to print in landscape orientation... it's a page-specific problem...

    Hope this helps!

Well, I do know that 5.5 is more accurate when it comes to print preview, you might try an upgrade, and see if that does you any good.. <img src=/S/wink.gif border=0 alt=wink width=15 height=15>

This is a browser print drivr problem. The browsers do NOT use the Windows print driver. Each browser including IE uses a generic type which ALL seem to have a problem of some type. You have just found the IE problem. I do NOT have a problem with IE 6.0 but do on IE5.0. I have not run IE5.5 for some time and can not remember if this problem is still there or not.

Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.

IExplorer 5.5 does have this same *&%!!% problem. [It is really not nice when you need to cut and paste a 20 some page article.]

I have tried several printers (DEC, HP & HP Color, Talaris) and all have this problem.

Does anyone know if there is a way to get IExplorer 5.5 to recognize the fact that there is a real printer out there?

The problem nearly always is that the page author sized a table way too wide. One thing I have done is use Acrobat to load the page. When this works, you then can print it compressed onto portrait-oriented pages. Not aware of any other quick fixes. You could try opening the page in Word and seeing if you can squeeze it onto portrait sized pages that way.

Thanks for the recommendations. I will give them a try (Word and Acrobat both sound like a good bet for this task). I guess that what I am upset about is the fact that Ms. Gates
