Windows XP and Office XP (XP)

I hope this isn't a duplicate but can't remember - and can't find - where I may have posted this already.

In the last few weeks, and I believe it started after Windows did an automatic update on my computer at the office, every time a window(s) is idle for about 15 minutes, it shrinks to about 5x7 size and I have to maximize it again before I can use it (very inconvenient!). It happens with IE and with all the office programs, and if I open a new window within that window, it (obviously) is the same small size.

I don't know what caused it or how to fix it and hope someone out there does!

    Thanks

That is the "shrink to postcard size" hidden feature. <img src=/S/grin.gif border=0 alt=grin width=15 height=15> Seriously, 15 minutes is what a lot of folks have for a screen saver setting. Are you running some unusual screen saver? go to Control Panel/ Add remove Programs and check the 'Show Updates' box. Recent updates to XP should show a date installed. You could check out the associated Knowledge Base articles (the KBxxxxx part of the fix description) and see if a recent one had to do with graphics or windows size, etc. You don't have something like Exposer 1.21 - Shrink and Tile All Open Windows running do you?

If I have Shrink and T ile all Windows on that computer, I sure don't know it. I'll check the recent updates to see if I find anything but it sure is a pain when these things take over your computer and you have no control over them.

    Thanks

You got me to thinking about screensavers and I changed from the St. Patrick's Day screemsaver I've been using since right after Valentine's Day - and the problem seems to be solved!

Thanks so much for the screeensaver clue!

You're welcome. Glad it is resolved. If you want the St. Patty's screensaver you ought to go to the creator's site and see if there is any information about problems.

I do apologize; I thought I had posted it two different places but didn't realize they were both the Lounge; my intent was to post it here and in a Microsoft newsgroup.

    Sorry
