    Events (2003 11.6566..8036)

    On the attached are fields that I'm unsure where/how to implement an event. If the client is not the same as the guarantor then I will need to plug in the guarantor's information and default the SSN submitted to be the same as the guarantor's SSN. Thans for any guidance!!

    I'm confused. If the client is *not* the same as the guarantor, surely the client's SSN will be different from the guarantor's SSN, so why fill in the SSN of the guarantor?

    The "SSN Being Submitted" will be either the client's very own SSN or the SSN of the guarantor which is not always the client.

    So why would you want to fill in the Guarantor's SSN in "SSN Being Submitted" if the cloent is *not* the Guarantor? In that case, it's "guaranteed" to be the wrong SSN.

    For example, if the client is a child then the parent's SSN would be the SSN plugged into the SSN being submitted field.

    Re: Events (2003 11.6566..8036)

    You could put code in the After Update event of the Guarantor SSN text box, for example:

    Private Sub GuarantorSSN_AfterUpdate()
    If Me.chkClientGuarantor = False And IsNull(Me.SSNBeingSubmitted) And _
    Not IsNull(Me.GuarantorSSN) Then
    Me.SSNBeingSubmitted = Me.GuarantorSSN
    End If
    End Sub

    Substitute the correct names.

    And if the child has an SSN, where do you plug that in?

    Me refers to the current class, in the case of Hans's example, it refers to the form in which the event is running.

    If the child were to be held as the guarantor then the child's SSN would be plugged into the SSNBeingSubmitted

    Did you change GuarantorSSN etc. to the "real" names of the controls on the form?

    In what sense doesn't the code work? Do you get an error message (if so, what does it say?), or does it do something different from what you want, or doesn't it do anything at all?
