    Modules (2003)

Can anyone help - I'm a modules novice. I've a table Parameters with item number, StartPeriodId and EndPeriodId fields. Start and End Id match to another table, ACPeriods which have a period Id and Period fields. What I need is to get to a new table with ItemNo From Parameters, plus only the periods in ACPeriods table between StartId and EndId. I'm not sure if I need a module to do this - any ideas?

    Thanks folks.

    Ina

You should be able to use a query for this.
Create a new query in design view.
Add Parameters and ACPeriods to the query.
If Access joins them automatically, delete the join line.
Add ItemNo from the Parameters table and PeriodID and Period from the ACPeriods table to the query grid.
Enter the following expression in the Criteria line in the Period column:

    Between [StartPeriodID] And [EndPeriodID]

Switch to datasheet view to check whether the query returns the correct records.
You can use this query as the record source for a form or report.

If you really want to store the results in a new table, switch back to design view, select Query | Make-Table Query and enter a name for the table to be created. Then select Query | Run to execute the make-tab;e query.

Hi Hans, I'd tried exactly this before coming on and got no records returned. Not sure why - just occurred to me that perhaps there might be differences in data type - I'll check this out, and if it still doesn't work, will let you know.

    Thanks!
