    ODBC drivers -Excel (2003 SP2)

I have a question about ODBC drivers that access Excel Workbooks.
I have created Data Links in the Budget Software (not Excel) we use.
The Data Links use ODBC drivers to access data stored in closed Excel Workbooks.
    All work just fine.

The xls source files got moved to a new server so I had to modify the ODBC drivers to point to the new location.
I noticed all the drivers indicated "Microsoft Excel Driver" except one.
One of them indicated "Driver do Microsoft Excel".
They all worked, but I am confused as to the difference between the two.
I searched the Microsoft site but that did not help.

Does anyone know the difference between the two drivers listed below?

    Microsoft Excel Driver
    vs
    Driver do Microsoft Excel

The attached pic shows both as options in the Drivers Tab of the ODBC Data Source Administrator.

Should I rebuild the odd ODBC link using "Microsoft Excel Driver"?

    Thanks,

    Chuck

Your picture shows drivers for various languages - Treiber is German, Driver para o and Driver do are Portuguese, I think.
For many purposes, it won't really matter which one you select, but it might make a difference if you try to sort data - different languages have different conventions about what "alphabetic" means.

    Hans,

    Thanks!
It seemed to work fine but I was concerned about future issues. For next years budget, I will rebuild it just to be safe.

    Have a Great Day!
