    Using ShowRevisionsAndComments in Word 2000 (Word 2000)

    Hi All...the following code works fine in Word 2003 but will not in Word 2000:

    With ActiveWindow.View
    .ShowRevisionsAndComments = True
    .RevisionsView = wdRevisionsViewFinal
    End With

    Are these not supported in Word 2000 and if not, is there a way to program around it? My boilerplate document has comments in it and it is being used by both Word 2000 and 2003.
    Thanks for any help...it's much appreciated....

    The way revisions are handled was changed drastically in Word 2002 (aka XP). Both ShowRevisionsAndComments and RevisionsView were introduced in Word 2002 VBA.

    You should write the code in Word 2000, if it works there it should work in Word 2003 too, with at most minor adjustments. I'm afraid I can't help you with that, I've never used Word 2000.

    Hi SCoyle,

    Word 2000 has a 'ShowRevisions' property (which you'll also find in later versions), but nothing equivalent to 'ShowComments'.

    If you need something approximating 'ShowRevisionsAndComments = True' and
    'RevisionsView = wdRevisionsViewFinal' in Word 2000, which I think amounts to 'show the final version of the document, plus comments' could use:

    ActiveDocument.ShowRevisions = False
    ActiveWindow.View.ShowHiddenText = True
    Cheers,
