Re: Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 2 released

Release Notes for Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 2 states, that
If you installed Internet Explorer 7 after installing Windows Server 2003 SP1, you must uninstall Internet Explorer 7 before you install Windows Server 2003 SP2.

We updated two 32-bit servers without uninstalling IE7 and we have no problems so far. For SP-2 installation we used CD created from ISO ( http://www.microsoft.com/technet/windowsserver/sp2.mspx ).

Re: Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 2 released

I believe that the directive that you must uninstall IE7 before installing SP2 was subsequently retracted...!

    From WServerNews newsletter:

"Initially, it looked like there was one major Gotcha. The Release Notes
stated that if you applied IE7 after W2K3 SP1, you needed to -uninstall-
IE 7 before you install SP2. HUH? Right. But after the initial confusion
the release notes were updated and that IE7 removal is no longer necessary.
    Here they are:
