Template Wizards (Word 2000)

I have installed Word 2000 and I notice that under my user templates I have all the wizard templates that come with Word (ie. legal pleadings, reports etc).

I cannot find these under my c:drive to be able to delete them. Can you please advise how I can get rid of these wizards as I do not use them and they are cluttering up my template folders.

I look forward to hearing from someone.

    Re: Template Wizards (Word 2000)

You have to uninstall them. The built-in templates in Word 2000 seem to be installed on-the-fly as called up. So far as I can tell, they are not physically on your hard drive except as coded into some other file.

Unfortunately, these templates are not installed /uninstalled one-by-one but in groups or categories.

See: Template Basics ( for more on templates (user and workgroup), document templates, global templates and This also includes how the files are organized under File New and the location of template folders which varies not only by version of Word but also by operating system.
