    Patches (2k SR1a (plus bits))

    Question -

Going with the good advice not to install SR2 if you ever want to find email useful again, I haven't. But I have installed various patches for security holes etc.

Now, I see that there are new bugs found which are sometimes fixed in a previous patch. But how can I tell what patches I have applied? If I go to the Microsoft Office site and search for patches, I get a list, but I have no way of knowing what I've got and what I haven't.

    Or have I?

    All help appreciated!

    Thanks

    Stuart

Try this link to the Microsoft <A target="_blank" HREF=http://office.microsoft.com/ProductUpdates/default.aspx>Update Centre</A>
After a quick scan of your system, the info you are after should be available from there

I had a feeling that Woody had recommended not using Office Update automatic detection, or is that wrong?

I couldn't remember, but a quick search of the Woody Archives threw up <A target="_blank" HREF=http://www.woodyswatch.com/windows/archtemplate.asp?3-26>Vol.3 Iss.26</A> where it states:

Q: How can I tell which updates I have installed via Windows Update?
A: There are two ways to do this. Either:

    1. Run Windows Update and when Windows Update asks whether it should check your computer now (you may need to click the Product Updates link first), click Yes

    2. When the Select Software page is displayed, click the Installation History to view a list of all the updates you've installed and when you did so.
