Title Case/Initial Caps (2003)

Just a comment on where Word doesn't seem to know what it knows.
When converting a line to "Title Case," it doesn't really do that. Rather it converts to all initial caps (NOT the same thing). But immediately, the grammar checker comes in and flags all the words such as "The" and "Of" telling me that I should not have changed them to initial caps!

According to the Wikipedia entry on Capitalization, title case is

capitalization of all words, regardless of the part of speech

Not capitalzing words such as "of" and "the" is merely a convention.

Yes, lower-casing articles etc. is merely a convention. However, it is a convention that has a lot of followers.

Since Word also "knows" about this convention, by squiggling articles immediately after applying Title Case, shouldn't there be a method in Word to allow the lower-casing of articles when "Title Case" is used? Can Title Case be modified to handle this, or could a macro do this?

It might be possible to write a macro for this, but I wouldn't fancy writing one...

I do have a macro that correctly capitalizes words. It is part of a set called The Editor's Toolkit from Editorium.com.
