    Page Numbers (Word 2003 )

The work study student who's doing a manuscript formatting job for me is having a devil of a time trying to get Word to put page numbers in the upper left corner of the even numbered pages and the upper right corner of the odd numbered ones. Since that's a very common pattern, we think there must be a way to produce it in Word. Any ideas?

    Hi, yes.

Go into the Header and choose PAGE SETUP. There is a tick box for Headers - different odd and even. Tick this.

You can then set the different types of alignment (and anything else) for odd and even headers.
    See attached doc for example.
