    Looking for Sounds

Recently I was helping my daughter with a PowerPoint project for school. I showed her how to do various things like inserting pictures, setting transitions, etc. We were nearly done when she asked if you could also have music playing. I said of course and proceeded to show her how to do that as well.

Here is were the problem came about. She wanted some very specific sounds and music so we resorted to doing multiple Googles looking for what she needed. We finally got it all done to her satisfaction whereupon she commented that "you would think someone would have a program that would help you do that".

So that started me thinking and searching and I came up with the following item that I thought I would share with all of you.

First, I found this website called FindSounds.com which allows you to search for sounds on the web in all sorts of formats. We found a number of sound files that were much better than what we had initially found so the project was greatly improved!

While on this site I noticed the advertisement for their program is called FindSounds Palette and it is suposed to be "Ultimate software program for finding sounds!" Now this is only a free 15 day trial but it looks pretty interesting.

Hope you all find it interesting.

    Re: Looking for Sounds

    Thanks for those Steve!

Being a fan of old time radio I loved the sound effects website and I just got through perusing some sound bites of Bogart (Badges? We don't have no badges....) on the <img src=/S/thewave.gif border=0 alt=thewave width=225 height=33> wavsource site!

I will have to show these to my daughter tonight.

    Thanks again.
