FF2 File Locations (FF2.0.0.3 and Vista)

I'm trying to set up FF2 on a new Vista machine. I want to copy the bookmark file (and possibly others) from my XP machine to the Vista computer. I can find the bookmark file source on XP, but I can't find the bookmark location on Vista. I can find the profile file for FF on the Vista machine but it is quite unlike the profile on XP. I'm also attempting to do the same with Thunderbird.

Any ideas on how to proceed?

    Thanks,
    Regards,
    PaulB

Is there a reason you are not using the export bookmark capability of the program to create a bookmark file which you can then import on the Vista machine?

Make sure you have the correct location of the profile folder, the contents of the profile are the same on Vista and XP.

For details of how to locate your profile folder see http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder#W...ofile_folder.3F

    Thanks, gentlemen, your advice resolved the issue. Now I'm sitting here doubly <img src=/S/blush.gif border=0 alt=blush width=15 height=15> <img src=/S/blush.gif border=0 alt=blush width=15 height=15> .

John, I never thought to use the export/import commands to transfer the bookmarks because I usually deal with this file (and others) directly in the profile.

As you probably suspected, Tony, I wasn't looking in the right place for the profile. I was looking in C:UsersUserNameAppDataLocalMozillaFirefoxProfiles and finding a folder called 9sme1aze.default containing a Cache folder and two files that I couldn't make any sense of.

    Cheers,
    Regards,
    PaulB
