    Collate x's Problem (Excel 2002/2003)

    Hi

    Please see attached

    I am trying to collate some X's

    For Example 0020000155 PUBS AND BARS have 3 x's on separate rows and I am trying to copy the x's to

    Columns AB:AP so they are all on one row

    I have tried Hlookup and Vlookup with no success

    Thanks in advance

    Braddy

    Re: Collate x's Problem (Excel 2002/2003)

    In AB3, enter the formula
    <code>
    =IF(SUMPRODUCT(($A$3:$A$714=$Z3)*(H$3:H$714="x")), "x","")
    </code>
    Fill down and right. You'll need a different formula for the #N/A case: in AB162, enter
    <code>
    =IF(SUMPRODUCT(ISNA($A$3:$A$753)*(H$3:H$753="x")), "x","")
    </code>
    and fill right.

    Hi Hans

    Thank you very much for your prompt reply and the solution to my problem.

    I did try the Sumproduct after you had shown me on previous question. but never came near the solution.

    Thanks again
