Migrate Office Settings (Office XP sp3)

Hi, I normally save all my personal office settings using the Microsoft savings wizard. I am buying a new pc and would like to know if I can restore these settings from my backup files to the new pc or is this going to create problems? Any help appreciated.

If you're going to use the same Office version on the new PC, you should be good to go. If, however, your new PC will come with a newer version of Office (2003 or 2007), I don't think it'll work.

    Thanks Hans
It will be the same Window Office. One less problem for me.

I tried this once and was not pleased with the results. I did it on the same machine after replacing the hard drive. In the course of rebuilding the image on the hard drive, I must have given the computer a different name or made some slight change in the directory structure (sorry, it was several months ago and don't recall the details). Anyway, the lesson I learned is that if you use this tool, it will expect the exact same directory/folder structure and the exact same user name and the exact same computer name.
