    PDF gibberish (2003)

This may be a bit off topic, but I don't know where else to turn.
I used Adobe Acrobat to convert a Word document to PDF format. An acquaintance printed it out, and all the former Word Body Text (not any of the Headings) came out looking like gibberish. After inspecting it closely I noticed that all the letters were off by one from the alphabetical sequence. That is, an "a" printed as a "b", a "t" as a "u", etc. Any idea what would cause such an error? It may have more to do with the printer, printer driver or something else. My acquaintance did finally get it to print out properly, but she doesn't remember what she did to make it so.

I cannot help, but if it's any consolation, you're not alone. The problem is mentioned in the newsgroups several times, without a solution as far as I can see. <img src=/S/sad.gif border=0 alt=sad width=15 height=15>

It is a bit weird, but it seems like trying again, perhaps after a restart, will result in a proper printout.
