Disable Picture copy from Web (2002)

    Hi!

I'm going to be posting photo's on a wedding website that I do not want anyone to be able to right click to copy. I've found sites that don't allow this and tried to look at their code that is blocked too so I couldn't copy it.

    Thanks,
    Leesha

In reality, it is not possible to prevent others from copying pictures, as by definition they have downloaded the image to their local cache to view it in the first place.

You have a couple of options:

1] Make it difficult by disabling the right-click menu - see here for example code. This can be over-ridden by disabling Javascript, and I'm not sure it works in Firefox (to which there is another workround here anyway).

    2] Add a watermark, (e.g. watermark factory.com or with a graphics program) - examples galore at Worth1000.com

    Hi Leif!

Thanks for the info. The first piece of code you sent me is the one I tried but couldn't get to work. Great idea on the watermark!

    Thanks,

Any site that messes with ANY of my settings including the right click I will NOT return and I will rat on them and tell other NOT to go there.
The water mark is the best way to do it. Also if the posted image is of a small resolution then only a very small and large pixeled image can be saved to the local drive and or printed.

Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.
