    Maximize - Minimize

    This is application dependent - some applications have keyboard shortcuts for maximizing and restoring windows, others don't.

    For Word, Alt+F10 restores/maximizes the application window, and Ctrl+F10 restores/maximizes the document window. (You'll only see the difference if you have turned off "Documents in Taskbar" in the View tab of Tools | Options...)

    Alt-Spacebar is a pretty universal Windows keystroke that's the equivalent of clicking the little icon in the upper left corner of all windows. A menu drops down, and you can then Restore, Minimize or Maximize by hitting R, N or X.
