    Network Workgroups (WinXP Sp-2)

My router and wireless were giving me "issues", so I just bout new NETGEAR hardware.

Installation seemed to go fine... I've got connection etc., but when I went to double-check my shares, I found the two computers in our house are now members of different workgroups, so my shares don't work.

How can I move my wireless to the original workgroup so that the shares will be right?

    Chuck,

It is very strange - workgroup settings are per computer, not per router settings.
Anyway, on each computer open System Properties (clicking Windows and Pause/Break keys simultaneously, or right-clicking My Computer icon and selecting Properties, or from Control Panel), then click Computer Name tab and Change button. On the next screen type your preferred workgroup name, click OK, OK and restart the computer.

Also check that your router is set for your wireless cards: logon to your router (for Netgear usually 192.168.1.1 ), type administrator account name and password, on router setup select Wireless Settings under Advanced on the left pane, click Setup Access List button on the right pane, click Add button and type an appropriate name (it can be any name - just for you to remember) and MAC address (usually on the sticker on the bottom of laptop or on wireless NIC card), click Add, then Add once again, type a name and MAC address for another computer, click Add, make sure that "Turn Network Access Control On" checkbox is checked, and click Apply button.

    Good luck!

I apologize (to all), I thought that was his (first) name.

That'll teach me to be less forward, eh?
