File and Settings Transfer Wizard (XP 5.1.2600)

Just bought a new PC with XP Professional (only because I couldn't get W2K!).
When attempting to use the Files and Settings Transfer Wizard, it instructs me to put a blank CD in the CD drive. The problem is that the only options I am offered are removeable discs E, F G and H - which are the slots in the multi-media card reader. I can't get a CD in any of those slots!
Is there a way to make XP offer me the choice of the CD slot - or is it because the device is actually a DVD+-RW DVD writer and not a CD writer that XP can't/won't offer it? If so, is there a workaround, please?

Can you point to a location on a (local or remote) hard drive, then copy the result to CD?

Oh, smart! Yes - I can use a compact flash card/SD card, write the wizard to that and then copy to CD.

    Mucho Thanks
