    Unable to connect

I have a strong signal from my router for my security enabled network, I enter the WEP key and Windows gives the messsage 'Please wait while windows connects to...' etc. The end result is that I am unable to connect. Everything is fine with my other portable. Not sure what the problem could be. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Do you get an error message? Can you ping the router? Are you sure it is WEP and not WPA?

No error message, not sure what 'pinging' is and yes I should have said WPA.

Ping is a command to try to establish constact with another device. Do you know the IP address of your router? If so, go to Start | Run | cmd.exe. Then enter PING the-router-ip-address. Then hit Enter.

Address not recognised - the router is not recognised! Hmmm. What next?
