    Outlook Duplicates Messages (Office 2003)

A friend of mine has Outlook 2003 as do I. He runs Windows XP Sp2 on a Dell. That's where we differ. I run mine on a Gateway. But, I digress. He will start receiving mail but Outlook duplicates each one so fast that he cannot delete them fast enough. He finally has to turn Outlook off and go to Bellsouth and read his mail there. No duplication there. He talked to Bellsouth about the problem and they said it was Outlook. If so, how can it be fixed?

Does your friend have service pack 2 for Office 2003 installed? Duplicate e-mail messages are downloaded from a POP3 e-mail server account in Outlook 2003 (MSKB 885870) says this was fixed in SP2 (the Office SP2, not the Windows SP2).

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll contact my friend and have him to upgrade if he hasn't. Thanks again.

Thanks for the help. My friend went to HELP and then to DETECT and REPAIR and that did it. He also went to UPDATE in Windows and did so. Once again, you fellows have been very helpful. I appreciate it very much.
