    Counting two values (2003)

    Loungers

    I'm trying to count the number of two occurrences - I'm sure I've done this before, but the method has escaped me (must be getting late in the day)

    I've attached a sample of what I am trying to achieve - I'm sure that an expert out there will be able to assist

    Fortunately, it's still early here.

    Enter this formula in J5:
    <code>
    =SUMPRODUCT(($D$8:$D$12=J$4)*($E$8:$E$12=$I5))
    </code>
    Fill down, then fill right.
    If you don't want to see the zeros, assign a custom number format to the range with formulas, for example
    <code>
    General;;
    </code>
    This hides zero values (and negative ones as well, but they don't occur here).
