If I map a drive (to a letter, say "O:") I can't copy files 'TO' that drive.
I get an error that the drive is write protected.
Is there any way around this?

Chuck Billow

Can you copy files to that share by drag-n-drop within Windows Explorer? (NOT the mapped drive, but the network share)
Are you sure you have the proper permission? What kind of drive?
Joe
When the share was made did you check the box that allow others to change files?
Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.
Dave (Al/Joe):
It *is* needing the ability to "change" files, which apparently includes "add files to drive".
Thanks,
Chuck

Is prenos some kind of system folder?
Try this out:
1) Remove the map to prenos
2) Create a folder called Chuck on the same drive as prenos
3) Copy files from prenos to Chuck by drag and drop
4) Map to Chuck
Same problems?
Jerry
Jerry:
You did grok that I got the solution, yes? 'Prenos' was there as part of a graphic I had been sent and used to save time...

It is impossible to tell from your cryptic comment what the situation really is (i.e. was the picture what you changed to get it to work or was is the way you found it and sharing still did not work?). Please be more explicit in the future. As good as we are we are not mind readers. <img src=/S/grin.gif border=0 alt=grin width=15 height=15>

No?
What if I told you I knew you were going to say that?

<hr>'Prenos' was there as part of a graphic I had been sent and used to save time<hr>So we do NOT know if there is a check mark there or not on YOUR system?

Dave/Leif/Joe/Jerry:
I'm sorry for the confusion.
The named particular share in the attachment was and is irrelevant (for me at least). The graphic was borrows from another email.
The long and short of it all is that I must select BOTH "share" AND "Allow users to make changes...".
This last was the problem for me, because since I was just copying a file to a mapped share, I didn't see it as "changing a file", but "Rights Management" down the hall evidently did!
