    New drives mapped unneccesarily

Our file server is mapped permanently as the G: drive. I put a shortcut to this on my winntprofilesusernamepersonal directory, as this is where all my Office applications opens by default. However, every time I open an Office application (Word, Excel mostly), and click on the Shortcut to the G: drive, it maps the drive to the next available letter, H: in this case. Next time it will map it to I:, then to J:, etc. It does not reset, and it bugs me. I hate manually disconnecting drive mappings, and am worried that it could eventually corrupt Excel links. And my previous computer (also NT4 with Office 97) did not do it!
