Microsoft Office Famework

A few days ago, I noticed that a Microsoft Operations Framework file was being written to the Temp directory in Windows 2000.
I have not run either Windows or Office update for several weeks, and other than AV updates, I have not installed software recently, until after the files started appearing.

Info on MOF can be found at http://www.microsoft.com/technet/solutiona...of/default.mspx.
The file contains:

//* File: OInfoP11.mof - Office Extension MOF File for MSInfo >= 5.0

And all the classes referenced in the file seem to pertain to Office 11 (2003).

What causes this file to be created?
How can I disable the creation of the file?

OInfoP11.mof is part of MSInfo utility and contains information specific to your computer.

According to Windows 2000 Command-Line Parameters for Msinfo32.exe,
"Other programs may add nodes to System Information that display information specific to the program."

This is probably what's happen - one of the programs tried to add nodes to OInfoP11.mof, but for some reason the process is incomplete or repeats itself.
Compare OInfoP11.mof file from Temp folder with working one from C:Program FilesCommon FilesMicrosoft SharedMSInfo folder - maybe, it can give you a clue (you can use C:Program FilesSupport Toolswindiff.exe for this task).

Re: Microsoft Office Famework

The most recent OInfoP11.MOF file in :Program FilesCommon FilesMicrosoft SharedMSInfo is dated 10 March 2004.

So, this may be a bug in trying to update the file in Program FilesCommon FilesMicrosoft SharedMSInfo.

However, what would trigger this, as there has not been an update since 10 March 2004?
Just started happening a few days ago.
