    Combo box (Access 2003)

Hi! I am a relative newby to Access. I have a combo box question. I have a combo box that has student IDs and first and last name in it. I want the student IDs to show in this combo box. Then I want to have a text field fill in the first and last name based upon the combo box student ID selected. How do I make this happen? Thanks in advance.

    Welcome to Woody's Lounge!

Say that your combo box is named cboStudent. Its Column Count is 3 and its Row Source is a table or query whose first 3 columns are StudentID, FirstName and LastName.
If you want first and last name in a single text box, set the Control Source of this text box to

    =[cboStudent].[Column](1) & " " & [cboStudent].[Column](2)

If you want them in separate text boxes, set the Control Source of one text box to

    =[cboStudent].[Column](1)

    and of the other to

    =[cboStudent].[Column](2)
