    Activity history log (xp/2)

Hi, I look in the search but could not find anything regarding a log of the activities done on a computer. People always talk about it, I would like to know how to. Thank for any suggestion.

What kind of activity are you trying to view? Web sites? Services? Log on/off events? If you right click on 'My Computer' and click on 'Manage', you will be taken to the Management Console. You can view three logs (by default...some programs establish their own, i.e. Tumbleweed) there; the Application, System, and Security logs. You can navigate to each user's individual history folder (%systemroot%Documents and SettingsusernameLocal SettingsHistory).

I looked at the event viewer but, does not have what i am looking for also i could not find the history folder under local settings for the user. Is there a log that could show what folder, and files i have open, other than recent documents.

No, I don't think Windows logs that. No doubt there are third-party utilities that do so. That might be a question for the Software Finds and Wants forum.

The user could be deleting these files as one leaves the computer.

Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.

Are you looking for something that lists the files you currently have open? Or something that lists the files you have opened recently?

This is more like what i was looking for. I think third party sofwares would have all the MRU integrated in a UI. I will check the software finds and wants forum to see which is the best out there. Thanks guys for all the help.
