Adding command buttons to Pivot charts (Excel 2003)

I'd like to add command buttons to Pivot charts to run macros. (Easier for the people who use the workbooks than having to remember my keyboard shortcuts.) I managed to add one last week, but forgot how and can't seem to do it again! I am fine at assigning the macro to the button and editing the text in the button. What I can't manage to do is add the button in the first place or change its location once in the Pivot chart. Thanks!

You can add buttons from the Forms toolbar or from the Control ToolBox.

If you add one from the Forms toolbar, right-click it to select it, you can then move it, assign another macro, etc.

If you add one from the Control Toolbox, you must switch to design mode (first button on the Control Toolbox) in order to edit it. Don't forget to switch off design mode when you're done.

How do you add a button from the Control Toolbox to a (pivot) chart? Is this new in 2003?

If the pivot chart is in a separate chart sheet, you cannot use the Control Toolbox.
If the pivot chart is embedded in a worksheet, you can place controls from the Control Toolbox on top of the chart. They won't belong to the chart.

That's what I thought, but wanted to check - thanks. I suppose I could have just waited until I got home, and then checked 2003 and 2007 versions myself! <img src=/S/smile.gif border=0 alt=smile width=15 height=15>
