Intellimouse troubels (WinXP Dutch, Intellimouse 3)

    Good morning,

I don't know if I've chosen the right category, but I'm going slightly mad...

We just released a new image to our users. In this userimage we've made a hidden folder in which we store among others the specific mouse software from Intellimouse (Microsoft). Some users have an intellimouse mouse with extra features. These persons receive a 'special'treatment, in other words: we have to go there in order to activate the mouse software needed for their mouse.

I used to go to their workstation, logged in as administrator, download the software, et voila, the stuff works.
When this started to happen more often, I stored the download on my memory stick, took this stick to the user, logged in as administrator, installed the software, et voil

    Try the <img src=/S/free.gif border=0 alt=free width=30 height=15> utility Unlocker.

If you have already installed the Intellimouse software all you should have to do is select a different device and not worry about uninstalling and reinstalling. If you have not installed the Intellimouse software, have you tried uninstalling the existing driver first before even trying to install the Intellimouse software? How about removing the hardware and letting XP find it again?
