Grabbing the URL at the bottom of the screen - how (Fx 2.0.0.3)

Is there any way of grabbing the URL which appears at the bottom of the Firefox window when you place your cursor on a link in a web page?

Often the BBC uses this technique to link to a video, but the actual URL only appears at the bottom of the screen. The Properties of the video window seem to give an entirely different URL.

PS Can you play this video of Knut the Polar Bear outside the UK?

    John,

When I right-click on a link, I'm presented with an option to "Copy Link Location". Does this do what you're looking for?

Yes, indeed it does! Never realised that this was precisely what it did...

    Thanks!

Don't know whether Chris saw your second question or not, but the video plays OK for me here.

Tried clicking the link and could not play the file. Was told to RealPlayer needed to update the software so I allowed RealPlayer to do so and received error in the attached file. I cropped the About Help to show the version as well.

An interesting note, when I did a software update request, I was offered many possibilities, but version 10.5 remained the same "Upgrade".

It plays OK in Windows Media Player on my PC. Try changing the default association for .ASX files from RealPlayer to Windows Media Player in the File Types tab of Tools | Folder Options in Windows Explorer.

Thanks Hans, however I am using FF 2.0 not IE.

Fortunately, you provided enough information so I could goto Windows Media Player and change associations to include ASF File formats (File Types Tab of Tools | Options.

I took the opertunity to upgrade Windows Media Player to Version 11.

Could see the file with no problem now.

Yup. Has been for a long time. Actually, if you want to look at it properly, Windows Explorer is now just another UI for Internet Explorer.
