    Setting up X axis in months Chart (Excel 2000)

    Hi,

    I am working with some data and would like to plot it on a graph with the x axis monthly.

    attached is my data.
    Column A has the date for the data in column F,
    Column F is the average ratio between 2 values each week.
    When I try and make a graph it seems that because my data in the F column is blank between weeks it messes the chart up

    any one know how to make this data work in a chart?

    If you plot it directly (by days) you can "connect the dots" by changing the Tools - options -chart to "plot empty cells" as "interpolated". This will not group by the months

    You can create a pivot chart and group the column A into months.

    Re: Setting up X axis in months Chart (Excel 2000)

    Hi There

    I created a formula in E2 and then copied it down :

    =IF(F2="",NA(),F2)

    I then created a chart with the data in column A and E. NA() creates a value #NA and is not charted .

    Does this help?
