spell checker not recognising mispelt word (office XP SP3)

Im doing a Word spell checker. I wanted to type the words " to the" but as it was typed really fast, it appeared as "tot he". when i did a spell check it didnt recognise these words. Although the words dont mean anything, having looked at the words now i suppose they could possibly be recognised as valid words by Microsoft Word?

    any ideas?
    many thanks

A "tot" is a small amount of drink, e.g. "a tot of rum", and it can also mean toddler. "He", of course, is a personal pronoun. So both words occur in the dictionary.

I would, however, have expected AutoCorrect to change "tot he" to "to the" automatically. It is in the default AutoCorrect list for English on my PC.
