    Drawing Canvass (Office 2003 SP2)

Is there a way to set the default layout for the drawing canvass when inserted into Word? I think the default is "in line with text". For one user, the canvass appears off the top of the page and she has to go into the format of the canvass and change the layout to "square" to be able to drag it down on the page where it should be. Does anyone know why the canvass is not appearing on the page like it should?

I don't have an explanation or solution, but IMHO, the drawing canvas is a terrible nuisance. I find drawing objects to be much more easy to manage if I don't use the canvas, so I always turn it off (in the General tab of Tools | Options).

I totally agree with you. I keep my turned off. However, this secretary, for whatever reason, thinks she needs to use it. I have the work around for her so that will have to suffice unless someone else has the answer to my post.
