    Inserting pictures gives different sizes (2003)

    When doing Insert -> Picture -> From file the results vary between a small postage-stamp sized picture to an enormous picture which extends well beyond the slide. There seems to be no connection between the results and the original resolution of the picture. I can't find any setting which says 'change size of picture to fit on the slide', or equivalent. Any ideas, please?

    Why not use a slide layout with an object box such as the one on the left in the picture below (1).
    Then click the 'Insert Picture' button indicated on the right in the picture below (2).
    The inserted picture will be fitted to the object frame.
