    Open Source

I have been clearing out my study and I found a Compaq 3970 PDA in full working order in one of the bottom draws. It is a very basic model compared to today's Bluetooth and WiFi versions and can only really be a diary from now on with the current OS, Pocket PC 3.0.11171.

I was toying with the idea of trying some open source stuff, maybe applications and/or operating system on it. I was wondering if anybody had any suggestions for programs etc or leave it as it is.

I have one of those with a GPS jacket doing a sterling job of car navigation.

I also have a 3900 series iPAQ, and even with the '03 software I can still synch it to Outlook '07. I don't plan on giving it up anytime soon.
I gave up my GPS sleeve a while back because it just kept freezing and bought a new Garmin.
    Thanks John
