    Send/receive on startup (2007)

How do I get Outlook to send/receive e-mail when it starts up? I seem to remember 2003 did this, and I miss it.

Go to Tools | Options | Mail Setup (tab). Make sure 'Send immediately when connected' is set. You can also use the send/receive button for more send/receive options.

Thanks, Joe. Your suggestion worked. I also had inadvertently checked "Require Secure Password Authentication", which was fouling things up. When I start Outlook 2007 now, it seems to automatically download my new messages (which is the main thing I wanted). I sure thought there'd be a check box for "send/download on startup" (didn't Outlook 2003 have this?), but maybe I'm just getting old.

I just checked Outlook 2003 & the text is the same. I think it is just an unfortunate choice of phrasing.
