# Thread: Word Puzzle: Something Beautiful

1. ## Word Puzzle: Something Beautiful

This is sort of a jig-saw puzzle. When the letter pieces below are placed in the grid correctly, it will form 9 nine-letter words horizontally in the diagram. Also, if completed correctly, the vertical shaded spaces will reveal something beautiful. No tricks here... The nine-letter words are all very common. The letter blocks will not need to be turned, reversed, etc. They are placed just as you see them, jig-saw style.

The next post has a spreadsheet attached that may be useful when solving as you can move the pieces around.

5. ## Re: A Hint If You Need One

Jerry - I was thinking...

If you believe that RAINBOW is the magic word, then there is only one available "W" among the puzzle pieces. That "W" has and "E" to the left of it. That would indicate one of the nine-letter words has an "EW" as the 4th and 5th letters. There's only a few words that fit that pattern...

I also use TEA since it was something that you suggested several years back. I actually use it to help construct some of the puzzles I've put on the Lounge. First I decide what I want the solution to look like and then work backwards by finding words that fit the mold... Anyway, when I ran "...ew...." and searched for 9-letter words, TEA gave me a list of six.

Maybe I get a shorter list because I'm still using the evaluation version.

Well Jerry, I'm happy on two counts:

1) You solved it successfully and have earned choccy bars for you and family..
2) You found it infuriating
