need to strip word code (2003)

I have a text that was written in all caps. In word I use the change the the case function to change to all lower case. The text has a lot of bullet lists. If a copy the document to a web application I get major format problems. I assume it is because of the embedded word code. So I tried just copying to note pad hoping to remove the code. Then I copy and paste the content to a web based application, but there still seems to be embedded code. The most irritable problem is double spacing. Any other solutions out there?

You can use Edit | Replace to replace double spaces with single ones.
What "embedded codes" remain when you paste into Notepad? <img src=/S/scratch.gif border=0 alt=scratch width=25 height=29>

When Notepad uploads text to the clipboard, it might insert line breaks. Turn off word wrapping (Format>Word Wrap) before copying and see whether that helps.
