listing names from right to left (2007)

In a report, I have a list of names that need to be in two columns, reading across then down, such that the first two in the list are on the first row, the third and fourth are on the second row, etc. BUT, I need them to read from right to left, so that the second name is in the first row, first column, the first name of the list is on the first row, but in the second (right-hand) column, and so on through the list. Any good ideas?

You could write code for this. If you want help with that, please provide more info, preferably in the form of a small sample database (zipped; the data may be fake).

If your list is sequentially ordered you can create a dummy column that contains a dummy ranking. The dummy ranking is created by adding the actual ranking plus two times the mod 2 of the rank.

I used a query with the following formula.
    dummy:[rank]+([rank] Mod 2)*2
    My table became

    <table border 1><td>Name</td><td>Rank</td><td>DummyColumn</td><td>a</td><td>1</td><td>3</td><td>b</td><td>2</td><td>2</td><td>c</td><td>3</td><td>5</td><td>d</td><td>4</td><td>4</td><td>e</td><td>5</td><td>7</td><td>f</td><td>6</td><td>6</td><td>g</td><td>7</td><td>9</td><td>h</td><td>8</td><td>8</td></table>

You can then create the report showing the original names and rankings, but sort it using the dummy column.
