Lost address book in move to Outlook (2000)

    I'm in trouble!! <img src=/S/brickwall.gif border=0 alt=brickwall width=25 height=15>

I enticed someone to move from Outlook Express to Outlook. In the process two things have happened. One is that the address book has disappeared, and the second is that in mail that was imported, I cannot right click and get the option to add the address to contacts.

We are talking over 1Gb of data in the email store. (No Exchange - just POP mail) I swear that when I opened up Outlook Express to start the conversion process, there were no contacts displayed, but my 'someone' swears there were hundreds!! I cannot find a *.wab file which is where I would have expected to have found the address book.

In mail that has arrived since the conversion, the option to add to contacts list is there, but not on pre Outlook mail.

Yes it has to be Outlook 2000 - it just does.

How can I get the addresses back with a minimum of fuss?

    John,

    No they don't show up.

We went back to Outlook Express, recreated the Contacts list (by right clicking and add to contacts). Closed OE, opened Outlook and they were all there.

Not what I had expected, but it worked and I am in the clear again! <img src=/S/hiding.gif border=0 alt=hiding width=70 height=24>

Was the address book converted to Contacts? Do the email addresses show up if you follow the steps in Jefferson's <!post=Star Post,334705>Star Post<!/post> (the menu may be a little different in Outlook 2000)?
