    Headers (Word 2003)

    Hello,

Does anyone know how to set up the headers of each chapter to automatically be the respective chapter name if the chapter names are set up in the Style "Heading 3"?

    Thank you,

    JMT

I'm curious; to what use do you put Headings 1 & 2?
    Regards

Edited by HansV to correct omission - thanks, Stuart!

Select View | Header and Footer.
Enter the "fixed" text you want (if any), then click where you want the chapter name.
    Select Insert | Field...
Select StyleRef in the list of field types.
Select Heading 3 in the list of styles.
    Click OK.

Hi W.D. Heading 2 is for the book parts (each of which is composed of several chapters). I have no idea what Heading 1 is used for as I did not see it.

    Sincerely, JMT

Thanks, Hans. This helped a lot. I have realized, however, that recently, replies to my posts have not been emailed to me, even though I never changed my settings that currently allow for replies to be sent via email. Do you know if there is something wrong with the system?

Check whether e-mails from the Lounge have landed in your Spam (Junk e-mail) folder.
You could also check with your ISP - sometimes, ISPs bounce e-mails from the Lounge.

Thanks, Hans. It turned out to be in the Spam box of my email address's online system so it wasn't even getting to Microsoft Outlook's own junk box. But I found the messages, thanks for the tip. - JMT
