    Template w/bookmark and style (2003/xp)

I have a template. In the template is a bookmark that calls a signature block. I need the line for the signature to be indented .5. In the template itself I have the style set to do that. However, when you run the template, it does not pick the style in the document but instead uses the normal style.

What I think I'm asking is how do I apply a style within a template.

    Thanks

What do you mean by "run the template"?

If the signature is part of the body of the template, all new documents based on the template should include the signature with all its formatting.

    Try the following:

    - Open the template in Word.
    - Click in an empty paragraph or create one.
    - Select Insert | AutoText | AutoText...
    - Make sure that your template is selected in the dropdown list near the bottom.
    - Select SIGNER and click Insert.
    - Click in the line IN WITNESS WHEREOF...
    - Set the style to Body Text First Indent.
    - Select the entire text of the AutoText entry.
    - Select Insert | AutoText | AutoText...
    - Make sure that your template is still selected in the dropdown list near the bottom.
    - Select SIGNER and click Add...
    - Confirm that you want to redefine the AutoText entry.
    - Save the template.

The signature should now respect the indent of the Body Text First Indent style.
