    Command buttons (2003)

I am using command buttons, placed on a worksheet, to allow users to run macros. The macros have no button size or text adjustment functionality within them. Sometimes when activating the macros via the button, the button either doubles in size or the size of the caption text is halved. When I look at the button properties in the VBA screen they appear unchanged.

Does anybody know the reason for and the solution to this?

Sounds like a button from the Control toolbox, am I right?

I've heard about this kind of trouble with sheets set at a zoom level other than 100%.

Yes it is a control tool-box button and the sheet is set to a zoom of 80%

    Is there a work around?

Unless you need a particular feature of the Control Toolbox version, I would use a button from the Forms toolbar instead. They tend to be more reliable in my experience. You could also use an autoshape, which I don't think have the same issues with zoom.

Apart from rory's advice (take it!), I'd try to empty your temp folder.

    Thanks

I have recreated the buttons using froms

Can you please advise if there is an easy way to align a set of buttons from the forms menu along the horizontal?

Method 1: Dragging any shape (including controls from the Forms toolbar) with the Alt key held down will align the shape with the cell borders.

Method 2: Display the Drawing toolbar. Select the buttons by clicking the first one, then Shift+clicking the others subsequently. Then select Drawing | Align or Distribute | Align Bottom (or Align Top).
