    Lost Personal.xls (2003)

My personal.xls went away. No access to macros. It now appears on the right side of my workbook when I start Excel. If I click it, I can use my macros, but if I don't click it I can't see my macros. How do I get this back working properly? thanks

    1) Make sure that you display hidden files and folders in Windows Explorer.
    2) Quit Excel.
    3) Use Start | Search... to locate all workbooks named Personal.xls on your hard disk.
    4) The default location for Personal.xls is

    Cocuments and Settings<username>Application DataMicrosoftExcelXLSTART

    5) If you find Personal.xls elsewhere, copy it to the above folder.
    6) Start Excel to see if macros are available.

Thanks for the path, Personal is there, it was there when I got there. I clicked it and it opened fine, I could see my macros, but it still won't load up when I start Excel. Thanks again

That did the trick. Excel had disabled my personal.xls for whatever reason. I re-enabled it -restarted and all seems well. Thanks again.
