"Hmmm, ha, yyeess, I see, hhhmmm, yes. Of course, send it through sir." It was a call from MF1, the world renowned Magic Forest Secret Service. At the moment the phone was placed in its cradle, Al Bear's fax machine started to churn out a piece of paper, it read ...

"MF1 have intercepted a dispatch from the Badlands and depicts a maze, of sorts. This maze is part of a code builder used by the Badland's military. It appears they place a marble on one of the numbers and let the marble run. No matter where it starts, the marble descends to one of the white squares below it. So a marble placed on square 6 will roll either left to 8 or right to 9. Whenever a marble rolls there is equal probability that it will go to the left or the right.

We have problems at MF1 where we want to calculate the probability that if a marble is placed at 3 , it will fall out at 18......can you help?"

PS Note that a marble cannot roll onto or start from a black square.

Al Bear slumped to his chair and said " Where is Jezza Bear when I need him, I will have to ask my Lounger friends to assist me, while I have another 40 winks"
