    Comparing data in columns (2003)

    Hi all,
I have a spreadsheet with a large columns of data in Column E and Column H to Row 3624. The data in the column's is formatted General and cells contain letters and numbers. What I want to do is compare the data in these columns, and where there is a match change the colour of the data in these cells to red to indicate a match. There are blank cells in Column H but there will be done in Column E.
    Is this possible?

    Thanks.

You can use conditional formatting for this.
    - Select E1:E3624. Note which cell is the active cell within the selection, probably E1.
    - Select Format | Conditional Formatting.
    - Select Formula Is from the first dropdown.
    - Enter the following formula in the box next to it:

    =ISNUMBER(MATCH(E1,$H$1:$H$3624,0))

    - If E1 is not the active cell, change the formula accordingly.
    - Click Format...
    - Set the formatting you like.
    - OK your way out.
    - Repeat for H1:H3624, using the formula

    =ISNUMBER(MATCH(H1,$E$1:$E$3624,0))
