Desktop Shortcut (Vista business)

Hi.

I have a desktop shortcut that I cant remove! The shortcut references a folder that I deleted, When I try to delete the shortcut I get the following error "could not find the item this is no longer located in c:userspublicdesktop verify the item's location". I have tried cut and paste drag and drop nothing works how can I delete the shortcut? Many thanks Cheers John

What happens if you temporarily create a folder with the exact path that the shortcut refers to? Can you delete the shortcut? After that, delete the folder again.
