    Data Validation % (Excel 2002/2003)

    Hi

Rory showed me how to use Data Validation as below, but now I would like to set it between a minimum of 1% and a maximum of 100%, but I can't seem to get the numbers right
I can do 1 to 100 but I may want to use 2.5% which it will not allow??

I want to use Data Validation on a cell using a minimum entry of 0.0% and a maximum of 30.00% but I can't seem to get the formula correct.

    Any Ideas please

    Braddy

Re: Data Validation % (Excel 2002/2003)

First, set the number format correctly. If you want percentages with a decimal, you must set the format (in the Number tab of Format | Cells... to Percentage with 1 or 2 decimal places. If you set Decimal places to 0, you'll only see 2% even if you enter 2.4%.

Next, set Data | Validation to allow Decimal, between 0 and 0.3 - these correspond to 0% and 30%. If you want to limit entry to values between 51% and 100%, use between 0.51 and 1, etc.
